Slightly off topic, but I've found the RF 28-70 and RF 50 when both shot at f/2 near MFD have identical bokeh character. When choosing between the 24-70 vs 28-70, I also try to encourage people to consider 15-35 / 50 / 70-200 and forget the standard zoom altogether. Once you have the 15-35 and 70-200, you really only are missing 40-65.

Canon makes an 18-135mm zoom which is a good "walk around" lens. It's not as good as the 24-105 and not nearly as good as the 24-70 because that lens has a "variable focal ratio" and doesn't collect as much light. I have the EF 17-40 (pretty decent, may even wanna just pick up a 16-35mm used at some point to get better sharpness) and 24-105 (not my favorite, and the lens creeps down when carrying). I may just give all these a try on the R5 for a few months and either bite the bullet on 24-70 or settle for the RF 24-105. 1.

Rechte obere Ecke mit Objektivkorrekturen in Lightroom, 200%, f/11. Insgesamt ist bei der kürzesten Brennweite von 24mm mein adaptiertes EF 24-70 f/2.8L II aber doch in allen Bereichen und bei allen Blendenöffnungen schärfer und kontrastreicher, als mein RF 24-105 f/4L IS.
